A Remarkable Year: Thank You to Doug Wright MBE, High Sheriff of the West Midlands

As Doug Wright MBE’s tenure as High Sheriff of the West Midlands comes to a close, so too does a memorable chapter for Kids’ Village, his chosen Charity of the Year.

Kids’ Village is grateful to Doug for his support throughout the past 12 months. His passion and commitment have helped shine a spotlight on our mission to create the UK’s first holiday village for children with critical illnesses and their families.

Thanks to Doug’s incredible backing as High Sheriff and Chair of the Kids’ Village Trustees, the profile of Kids’ Village has been raised significantly, both within the region and beyond. During this time, there have been some substantial pledges that will go a long way in bringing the vision to life.

Doug Wright MBE said:

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to and supported Kids Village throughout my shrieval year. As the chairman of this wonderful charity, it has been great to see our community come together for such a special facility. I’m thrilled to share that together we have now raised an impressive £1.8M this year toward our goal of £5 million to build the UK’s first respite holiday village for critically ill children and their families. I am truly grateful for your support and advocacy. Please do keep following the Kids’ Village journey.

Katrina Cooke Said:

Being the Charity of the Year for the High Sheriff has been pivotal in our strategy to build traction for Kids’ Village. Through the support and guidance of Doug, we have achieved a great start to our capital appeal. We are confident the relationships we’ve built over the last year will continue to grow and develop and get us to our £5M target. Thank you.
