In 2023 Carla Garey and Ashby Netball Club raised over £22,000 for Kids’ Village by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most goals scored in a 24-hour period. And now they’re back- with an even bigger ambition!
Carla wants to fundraise for Kids’ Village after seeing her inspirational little girl Evelyn, fight for her life after being born with a rare congenital condition called Hirschsprung’s disease. She said that during that time, they were surrounded by terrified parents enduring the most heart-breaking circumstances and it showed her how difficult it is for families to manage childhood illness. Carla’s determination and passion leads the team and the incredible group of girls at Ashby Netball stood up to help.
This time it’s a netball playing marathon, with players playing continuous netball for (hopefully) 75 hours straight, which would break the record by 3 hours! They are aiming to raise £30,000 for Kids’ Village in the process and they would love your support.
