The charity, which is focused on building the UK’s first respite holiday village just for children with critical illnesses and their families, described the evening as a resounding success, bringing together members of the regional business community to share the inspiring story behind Kids’ Village, and providing details on the fundraising drive to raise £5 million to build this UK first.
Kids’ Village Co-Founder Samantha Fletcher-Goodwin, delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting back on her own journey as a cancer survivor and the work she, and the Fletcher family, have achieved since the charity’s inception. Throughout the evening, guests also heard from Chairman Douglas Wright MBE, Interim CEO Paul Faulkner and the story behind Tom Shepherd and his involvement with Kids’ Village.
The charity event concluded on a high note with words from Council member Douglas Pullen, expressing his enthusiasm and excitement for the future of Kids’ Village and the positive impact it will have on the people of Lichfield and the surrounding areas.
