Kids’ Village was chosen as Charity Partner for Birmingham Tech Week 2024. The Kids’ Village team attended the Monday night Opening Tech Week Social, the Wednesday Global Growth Congress and Awards Dinner on the Friday. CEO Katrina Cooke spoke at the event, talking about the plans to build Kids’ Village, the UK’s first holiday village exclusively for critically ill children and their families to enjoy a short respite holiday, with a sneak preview of an advert set to hit TV later this year.
On the night the generous guests of the dinner donated £3,520 to the raffle, with a surprise pledge of £1,000 from an attendee as well as raising £2,280 from the Silent Auction of the night, totalling £5,900. Kids’ Village was supported by a team of volunteers, many of which were students on work experience from BMet College, three of whom were invited on stage by Ed James to draw the raffle tickets, as thanks for all of their hard work.
Commenting on the event success, Katrina Cooke said
A huge thank you to Yiannis, and the whole Birmingham Tech Week Team who organised the week. We were thrilled to be involved throughout the week and the donation will go towards our capital appeal to raise the funds to build Kids’ Village. Thank you!
