Kids’ Village Raises £3,550 at LDC Christmas Lunch

Kids’ Village, the charity looking to build the first holiday village for critically ill children across the UK, is thrilled to announce it raised £3,550 at the LDC Christmas Lunch. The event brought together finance and banking professionals across Birmingham for a day of celebration, inspiration, and generosity.

The festive afternoon on the 12th December at The Grand Hotel Birmingham began with welcome drinks, setting the tone for a memorable occasion. Chris Handy delivered an engaging talk to kick things off, followed by a brief but heartfelt update on the impactful work of Kids’ Village and a video produced by McCann.

Guests were then treated to a sumptuous three-course meal, accompanied by the delightful sounds of a live band. Adding a touch of inspiration to the event, Ben Kay MBE returned to the stage to host a fascinating conversation with Mark England OBE, who shared captivating insights into his experiences and achievements.

The generosity of attendees shone through during the silent auction and through additional donations made throughout the afternoon, culminating in the remarkable fundraising total of £3,550.
Chris Handy, Partner and Head of West Midlands at LDC, said:

Raising more than £3,000 for Kids Village just before Christmas is a fantastic achievement. Having supported the charity for several years, we’ve seen the real difference they make in our community, and I’d like to thank everyone who donated. We’re looking forward to continuing our support of Kids Village as we head into 2025

Katrina Cooke, CEO of Kids’ Village said:

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Chris and the LDC team for once again selecting us as the charity partner for their Christmas Lunch. We are deeply appreciative of all the guests who joined us for this special occasion and contributed so generously.
