Let’s go round again: Fundraising festival of running returns to Lichfield

Entries are now open for One More Lap for Kids’ Village, a charity ultramarathon that’s making a big difference to Lichfield.

Lichfield’s day-long fundraising festival of running, One More Lap for Kids’ Village, is returning to the city later this year.
Taking place on Sunday 21st September 2025, One More Lap challenges teams of runners to complete as many laps of Lichfield’s Stowe Pool as they can in 12 hours.
The free to enter event sees run-loving groups of friends get together to enjoy the festival atmosphere, test their endurance, and raise money for local charity, Kids’ Village. So, while there’s no entry fee, teams commit to raising £100 per runner.
Teams can be between 4 and 6, running relay-style around the 0.75 mile lakeside lap from sunrise to sunset and into the dark. And when not running, teammates & their supporters, can rest & refuel in the event camp, with food & drink from street-food stalls, while enjoying live music from bands & DJs.
There are prizes up for grabs for the teams that raise the most money, run the most laps and the best dressed gazebo.

Ian Covey, Run Director at One More Lap said:

One More Lap brings the fun to ultras. Yes, it’s a challenge however good at running. But you don’t need to be an ultra-runner to take part. So, while some teams will battle it out to do the most laps, this is an accessible & friendly event where you can be a winner by walking the course dressed as an inflatable dinosaur. One More Lap’s really about spending time with your friends, family and other runners, doing something you love, that has a genuine impact on Lichfield.

Amy Jacklin, Fundraising Executive of Kids’ Village said:

Last year, One More Lap was a brand-new event, an exciting unknown where we had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be an incredible day with support from the local community, and we’re thrilled to see it return this year with Ian once again. A huge thank you to everyone involved in organizing and taking part. Last year’s One More Lap helped us to start phase one of building Kids’ Village. We’re looking forward to the return this year to help us achieve our next phase.
