St Michael and All Angels Church in Pelsall celebrated a festive and meaningful day with their annual Toy Service, the “Open the Book” nativity play, and a special art competition to mark the church’s 180th anniversary, before Christmas.
The congregation came together to support local families during the holiday season by donating toys to children in need. The “Open the Book” nativity play brought the Christmas story to life with heartfelt performances by children and volunteers, creating a sense of joy and community spirit.
In addition to the festivities, the church showcased artwork created by local schoolchildren for its 180th anniversary art competition. The colourful and imaginative pieces reflected the history and importance of the church within the community.
As part of their ongoing commitment to supporting charitable causes, Reverend Alison Morris presented Katrina Cooke, CEO of Kids’ Village, with a cheque for £500. This generous donation will go towards the building of Kids’ Village, a UK first holiday village for children with critical illnesses and their families.
Reverend Alison Morris expressed her gratitude to everyone involved, saying:
What an amazing morning for us! Thank you and God bless everyone who has helped out with these events.
Katrina Cooke, CEO of Kids’ Village, added:
We are so grateful to St Michael and All Angels Church for their support. This donation brings us closer to making our vision of a holiday village for children with critical illnesses a reality. Thank you for helping us on our journey.
