Runner to Attempt World Record 4,000km Run from Nordkapp to London for Kids’ Village.

This August, Luke Bellingham will attempt a record-breaking challenge to become the first person to run from Nordkapp, Norway – the northernmost point of Europe – to London, England. Covering 4,380km (2,722 miles) in just 73 days, Luke will average 60km (37 miles) per day – the equivalent of running 95 consecutive marathons, with no planned rest days.

Starting 300 miles inside the Arctic Circle, Luke’s journey will take him through Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the UK. Facing unpredictable weather, varying terrain, and the difficulty of running 60km per day without scheduled rest days, Luke will rely on recovery, the correct nutrition, and high-performance gear to complete the challenge.
As a dedicated ultra-runner and retail expert at Alpha Running in Lichfield, at 23 years old Luke has firsthand experience of how running can change lives for the better. Inspired by the mission of Kids’ Village, he hopes to raise significant funds and awareness for the charity, which is on a mission to build a holiday village to provide holiday breaks for children with serious illnesses and their families.

Luke Bellingham said:

After completing my first ultramarathon in aid of Kids’ Village and truly understanding their mission, I’ve been more motivated than ever to push my limits. I want to thank my family, friends, and AlphaRunning for encouraging me to see this through.
Inspired by individuals like Russ Cook and Nedd Brockmann taking on their own incredible challenges, I found myself thinking—why not me? When I discovered that a run from Norway to England had never been attempted, I knew this was my opportunity to attempt something truly unique. Understanding both the immense difficulty and the significance of this challenge, I wanted to turn what started as a dream during my time at university into reality.
There’s still a long road ahead—both in training and in the challenge itself—but with the right preparation, support, and determination and grit I’m ready to take this on.

Luke has dedicated the last 6 months to training and we have followed his journey very closely, after he entered into a local team event ‘One More Lap’ last year solo, raising £400 for Kids’ Village. We have been working with him to get ready for this huge adventure. A big thank you goes to Luke for taking on this challenge and everyone supporting him to get this far. Luke has given up so much to do this challenge and we will be cheering him on every step of the way. Good luck!
