Charlotte’s Kids’ Village — the first Kids’ Village.
Charlotte’s Kids’ Village in Staffordshire will be the very first Kids’ Village location and the UK’s first holiday village exclusively offering free of charge respite holidays to critically ill children and their families. Charlotte’s Kids’ Village will give families the chance to rest, reconnect, and make precious memories away from a hospital setting.
Construction is now underway, thanks to the generosity of supporters who helped us reach our £5m Capital Appeal target in November 2025. The village is taking shape, and we’re now fundraising to bring it to life with magic, warmth, and everything families need to enjoy a completely free-of-charge stay ahead of a planned 2027 opening.
The first Kids’ Village site is in Wychnor, situated between Lichfield and Burton on Trent and just a few miles north of Birmingham.
Surrounded by woodland, open skies, and peaceful green space, it will be a place for children and families to breathe, play, and simply be together.
The Kids’ Village lodges will be a place where children and their families can come together to relax, create memories and reconnect with each other and nature – a breath of fresh air! Our lodges will be nestled in the English countryside, and even have a sunset view!
Staying at Kids’ Village will be an escape and total contrast from stressful medical environments.
Our lodges are designed with child-like imagination and understanding for families going through the most difficult of times. All lodges have 4 bedrooms and sleep up to 8 people so that the entire family can be supported. We know that during this time extended family and friends often step in to help!
At Kids’ Village it’s the kids that will have the big bedroom (for once!). Included in the 4 bedrooms, we have a “magic room” for the child who’s sick and a “thank you room” that families can choose to gift to their support system.
All lodges will make families feel special, comfy and relaxed.
